When reporting a problem, please include your phone model, your Android version, and what you were doing when it happened. That is usually enough to reproduce it.

Does Halation need an internet connection? Only to check a purchase with Google Play. Taking photos and video works completely offline — try it in airplane mode. Nothing is uploaded and there is no account.

Are my photos sent anywhere? No. Frames are processed on your phone's GPU and saved to your phone's storage only when you choose to save them.

Why does the app ask for the camera permission? That is the whole app — it shows your live camera through a film simulation. If you decline, Halation falls back to sample scenes so you can still see how the cameras look, but you will not be able to photograph anything. Tap the HALATION title to move through the sample scenes.

Does it use the microphone? No. Halation does not request microphone access; video is recorded without sound.

Are these real film stocks? No, and we do not claim they are. Every look is generated from parameters in real time — there are no scans and no sampled film data. The camera and film names are our own.

What is the Darkroom? It opens up the selected camera's film so you can change it yourself: curve slope, base and ceiling density, highlight bleach, grain, halation, vignette and more. Save the result with a name and it appears on your shelf alongside the built-in cameras. The Darkroom is part of Halation Pro.

What is a CAM- code? It is your recipe written as text. Save a recipe and the code is copied to your clipboard; paste it anywhere you like. Anyone who pastes a code back into the Darkroom gets the same look. There is no server involved — the code is the recipe.

My recipe disappeared. Recipes live in the app's local storage. Clearing the app's data or uninstalling removes them. Keep your CAM- codes somewhere safe if a look matters to you.

Video looks choppy. Video recording is demanding — every frame is rendered, encoded and written on your device. Recording at a smaller frame size and closing other apps helps. If it is still poor on your phone, please write to us with your model; that information genuinely helps.

What is free and what is paid? The app is free to download and includes four camera bodies, the full engine and saving with a small watermark. Halation Pro unlocks all 14 cameras, all lenses and flashes, the Darkroom, watermark-free full resolution photos and 3-minute 1080p video. It costs USD 3.99 per week, USD 9.99 per month or USD 39.99 per year (local prices vary) and every plan starts with a 3-day free trial.

How do I cancel the subscription? Open Google Play → Subscriptions → Halation and cancel there. You keep Pro until the end of the period you have already paid for. Uninstalling the app does not cancel it.

I paid but Pro is not on. Open the paywall and tap Restore purchase. Make sure the phone is signed in to the same Google account you bought with.
